Wisdom Collective Worship (Focus on 'Dealing with Hazards')
This fun and original collective worship aids children in understanding the value of wisdom. Specifically, it focuses on having the wisdom to perceive and deal with hazards. It was delivered as a part of a series of three worship sessions on wisdom (available as a bundle), but works equally well as a standalone worship session. This is achieved through:
-Recalling the definition of wisdom and thinking about how we can show the characteristics of being wise;
-Thinking about what the word ‘hazard’ means and discussing what we know about hazards;
-Watching a video of a reading of Psalms 23 (hyperlinked) and discussing the literal and figurative meanings of the Lord being our ‘shepherd’ and helping us to stay safe in the face of dangers;
-Relating these teachings to the modern world - discussing how we can overcome the hazards that we face in our own lives (through the ideas of preventing, avoiding and overcoming);
-Singing a hymn relating to the Lord guiding us through life, before reflecting through prayer.
The session includes a comprehensive, engaging PowerPoint presentation and a hyperlink to the necessary video and hymn. There are also various discussion prompts to enable children to consider how wisdom and seeking support can aid us throughout our lives.
The slides are fairly self-explanatory, but I’ve included guiding notes to assist the speaker. Hope that you find this useful!

This fun and original collective worship aids children in understanding the value of wisdom. In this session, a particular focus is placed on defining wisdom and understanding that wisdom sometimes means seeking support from others, to help us to make wise choices. This is achieved through:
-Defining wisdom and thinking about how we can show the characteristics of being wise;
-Identifying times in which we might need to seek support;
-Reading and understanding a child-friendly reading of 1 Kings 3:3–15; 2 Chronicles 1:1–13 in which KIng Solomon asks God for wisdom;
-Analysing a bible quote from proverbs about the value of seeking advice;
-Relating these teachings to the lives of the children - considering how they can seek support both in their learning and at break/ lunchtimes (without relying too much on their teachers/ adults!);
-Singing a hymn relating to seeking support and reflecting through prayer.
The session includes a comprehensive, engaging PowerPoint presentation, a hyperlink to the necessary hymn, and both a PDF and Word copy of the script for the fable. There are also various discussion prompts to enable children to consider how wisdom and seeking support can aid us throughout our lives.

What is the Holy Trinity? (fully-resourced enquiry-led RE unit!)
This resource pack contains all of the presentations, worksheets and activities needed to teach an engaging and progressive 6-week enquiry-led RE unit of learning. This unit aims to equip children with the knowledge and skills needed to answer the big question: ‘What is the Holy Trinity?’
The unit is broken down into 6 sessions:
Three Persons in One God;
God the Father part 1 - Creation and the Old Testament;
God the Father part 2 - The Ten Commandments;
God the Son - The Baptism of Jesus Christ;
God the Holy Spirit - The Holy Spirit is sent after the Death of Jesus;
Assessment Lesson (assessment provided).
All of the resources are provided to teach each lesson (in the past we have taught them as double lessons and spread into 12 separate sessions) and each presentation contains key questions through the 3 lenses of theology, philosophy and human/social sciences. Worksheets are provided in both Word (to allow editing) and PDF (to protect formatting).
Each session contains knowledge recall based on learning from prior in the unit, a range of worksheet/ video/ creative resources to enhance engagement and a return to the enquiry question in the reflection section of the lesson.
These resources are tried and tested and best suited to children in years 3 and 4. They are aligned with the age-related expectations used by the vast majority of regions/ diocese boards.
When downloaded, the resources will be open in the download and also copied within the zip file.

In this engaging lesson, students are introduced to the story of Moses and the Parting of the Red Sea. They learn the key facts of the story (including a recap of the events preceding it) and then consider how it shapes/ demonstrates Jewish beliefs regarding God’s ‘chosen people.’
The learning is guided by a clear and colourful PowerPoint presentation, which guides students through the following step-by-step journey:
-Knowledge recall - gauging children’s prior knowledge of Judaism - including Jewish persecution in Egypt and Moses’ early life, and the Ten Plagues;
-Watching a video of Moses and the Parting of the Red Sea (hyperlinked) before answering recall questions about the key events;
-Considering the deeper meanings and morals of the story - including how the story presents an image of God’s ‘chosen people’;

Mary, Mother of Jesus - Collective Worship Session!
This fun and original collective worship session aims to guide children towards building their knowledge of Mary, mother of Jesus, through:
-Gathering what they already know about Mary;
-Learning about the annunciation of Mary, through reading an engaging and thought-provoking script;
-Answering comprehension questions based on the ideas and events of the annunciation;
-Considering Mary’s response and actions after learning that she would be the mother of Jesus;
-Studying examples of Mary’s devotion and love towards Jesus, through engagement with religious artworks and Bible quotations;
-Discussing the Christian values that Mary demonstrated throughout her life;
-Singing a hymn about the Mother Mary (hyperlinked);
-Closing with a prayer related to the Mother Mary.
The session includes a 16-slide presentation, the script for the ‘anunciation’ section (in both Word and PDF) and the hyperlink to the hymn. No further resources are required, everything that you need to present the assembly is included.
This assembly was originally delivered to all of the children in a primary school (KS1 and KS2), although with suitable adaptations it could also be suitable for students in KS3.

In this engaging lesson, students are introduced to the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. They gather knowledge the rituals that Muslims follow and consider the reasons behind these practices.

-Recalling their prior learning about how other religions (Christians and Buddhists) live in special ways;

In this engaging lesson, students develop their understanding of Moses, through learning about the ten plagues of Egypt. They are encouraged to think deeply about the meanings that can be taken from the story, and consider ideas such as punishment and God’s power.

-Knowledge recall - gauging children’s prior knowledge of Judaism - including Jewish persecution in Egypt and Moses’ early life;

RE - Sikhism - The Life of Guru Nanak!
In this engaging lesson, students are introduced to the Sikh religion and to the first Sikh Guru: Guru Nanak. They learn about the key events in his life, including his vision of God, and they begin to understand the importance of Guru Nanak to people who follow Sikhism.
The learning is guided by a clear and colourful PowerPoint presentation, which guides students through the following step-by-step journey:
-Considering what children already know about Sikhism, and what they would still like to know;
-Introducing children to the Sikh religion, including sharing information about where and when the faith started;

In this engaging lesson, students develop their understanding of the roles of vicars. They consider their routines and actions, and how vicars live their daily lives. It is great as a standalone lesson, or as a part of a unit on ‘special ways of living.’
The learning is guided by a clear and colourful PowerPoint presentation, which guides students through the following step-by-step journey:
-Thinking about the definition of a vicar (and how this differs from the more general definition of a priest;
-Introducing children to the daily life of vicars, including discussing their many roles and responsibilities, through watching an interesting and age-appropriate video;
-Answering questions to check their understanding of the roles of vicars;
-Completing a storyboard (using a provided template) to show the daily routine of vicars;
-Learning about the different clothes worn by vicars, before drawing and labelling a vicar in uniform;
